special puja and homam for jayalalitha verdict caseKarnataka high court will be delivering its verdict this Monday on Tamil Nadu former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s appeal against her conviction in the disproportionate assets case. Some of the AIADMK cadre already reached Bangalore in anxiety while the others line up before temples in the state praying for favourable verdict to their leader.

Today, AIADMK’s Tiruvallur district unit is performing special pujas in 23 Shiva temples, with special homams. The party’s North Chennai unit is organizing a procession with 567 milk pots at a local temple. A homam and annadanam would be held at a temple in Gobichettipalayam under the supervision of the state’s environment minister Thoppu N D Venkatachalam.

The veredict will have a huge impact on AIADMK’s poll prospects in the 2016 state elections. Currently O.Paneerselvam is leading the state as the Chief Minister but his option will not work out for the elections. Experts say Jayalalithaa may even go for early polls in case the judgement is favourable to her as the party is keen to take advantage of cadre morale and voter sentiment which they feel would be favorable to AIADMK and its leader.
