Akshay Kumar Laxmmi BombFor the first time in India, will a film get theatrical as well as a digital release on the same day? The buzz in the industry suggests the makers of Bollywood film Laxmmi Bomb are seriously pulling all the strings to make this happen.

Laxmmi Bomb stars Akshay Kumar in the lead. It is a horror-comedy and was initially set for Eid release. However, due to the pandemic, the makers opted for a digital debut. It was the first real biggie to take that decision.

With the cinemas all set to open from October 15th, the makers are now looking to get a theatrical release, as well. They have already confirmed simultaneous arrival in theatres in UAE, Australia and New Zealand from November 9th.

The main reason for this proposal seems to be the lack of fresh content for theatres. A biggie featuring a star hero would be ideal, and Laxxmi Bomb is ready.

Furthermore, in the case of Laxmmi Bomb, as both the producers and digital platform belong to the same parent company, they could come to an amicable solution. It presents Laxmmi Bomb with a unique scenario that might be impossible with others.

Laxmmi Bomb unit is explaining all this to people at the top of the chain in the exhibition sector. They will take the final decision. There would be further complication even if they agree as the permissions would vary from state to state. Laxmmi Bomb is a conversation starter, as of now. Let us see how things progress in the coming days. If it gets permission, it will be a first for Indian cinema.
