After the recent events that unfolded at the Telugu cinema box office, the latest happening in Bollywood comes across as a welcome relief. Films of two big ‘Superstars” were all set to clash for Christmas later in the year. But, now it is averted.
The stars are Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, and the movies are Lal Singh Chadda and Bachchan Pandey respectively. Both the films were announced to arrive for the Christmas holiday period. An official date was not given, though.
It is evident to anyone that clashes are not right for the box office. Having a sense of things, one of the stars, Aamir Khan, requested the producer and actor of Bachchan Pandey to move the release date, if possible. The makers obliged and Laal Singh Chaddha now gets a solo Christmas release. The movie and its success are crucial for the star as his last film Thugs of Hindostan bombed at the box office.
Laal Singh Chaddha is an official adaptation of Hollywood classic, Forest Gump. The Oscar-winning original movie starred Tom Hanks in the lead role. Advait Chandan, of Secret Superstar fame, directs Laal Singh Chaddha. Kareena Kapoor Khan plays the female lead in the movie.
