The Bollywood got Chinese market out of nowhere, courtesy the exploits of the star Aamir Khan. It soon turned out into a goldmine for both the Hindi productions as well as Chinese distributions as both were happy on either side.
However, somewhere towards the final quarter of the last year, the Bollywood movies started to underperform. The most significant setback was the Aamir Khan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan that ended its run with a whimper. Many felt the golden run of Hindi films is over even though many movies were still planned to release.
Well, the naysayers have been proved wrong. The latest Hindi release in China, Andha Dhun is doing roaring business. It has already entered into the top 5 highest grosser of all time among Hindi releases in China. The next step looks to be to get into the top 3. Currently, Andha Dhun has grossed over 30 million.
