Sr. Citizen Assaulted in Dangal Theater for Not Standing upWith the law that Supreme Court made of playing national anthem in the theaters and the audience to rise up as a salutation to the national flag that is displayed on the screen, whether or not the national anthem is being paid respect, there is the annoyance for sure.

At an incident at a Theater in Goregaon, a senior citizen was punched straight in his face by a drunk man for not standing up while the anthem was played in the background as a part of the Dangal movie where Geetha Phogat wins the gold medal. Amalraj Dasan, the assaulted stood up when the anthem was actually played before the movie was played.

The assault who hit Dasan was reported to be drunk and started to shout at people in the theater to rise up for the anthem played during the movie and hit Dasan before he knew what was happening. The accused was immediately taken into custody.

The victim who was distressed with the incident requested film crew to put an alert message on the screens intimating the presence of patriotic bits in the film so that people would be alert and could avoid such sudden attacks from the crowd.
