Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan has got convicted in the 1998 Blackbucks case. Jodhpur Court had awarded Five Years of Jail Term and 50000 Penalty for the Superstar in the case. According to the rules, Bail can be granted in any case where the imprisonment is less than Three Years.
So, Salman Khan is unlikely to get the bail and will have to appeal to an upper court. The case dates back to the intervening night of October 1-2 in 1998 in which the endangered black buck deer was allegedly killed when Salman Khan and his co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu, were shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain in the forests near Jodhpur. Later on, multiple cases were thrust on him for allegedly killing two chinkaras and two blackbucks on three hunts. In 2007, he spent a week in jail in Jodhpur before being granted bail.
