Singing our national anthem for an occasion is a great honor conferred on megastar Amitabh Bachan when India was to take on Pakistan for the T-20 match held on Saturday. His rendition for the national anthem was indeed hair-raising and truly patriotic.
But what followed next was something very embarrassing for the megastar. Somebody started spreading rumors that Megastar charged Rs.4 crores for singing our national anthem and that’s enough to unleash hate on internet through social sites.
However, the rumors were laid to rest by none other than former Indian captain Saurav Ganguly. He clarified that Amitabh Bachan didn’t charge a penny to sing the national anthem at Eden Garden before the match began. Moreover, Amitabh paid for his flight, match tickets and hotel bills from his pocket.
