Irrespective of how Prasthanam fared commercially, it is revered still today for its epic dialogues and drama. It has withstood the test of time and looks contemporary even today, subject-wise. No wonder, it has been remade in Hindi by Deva Katta. It is undoubtedly the best work he has done.
The Hindi remake features Sanjay Dutt in the lead reprising the role of Sai Kumar from the original. As it is the birthday of the Bollywood star, a teaser has been released. The first impression of the Hindi remake, also titled Prasthanam, is that it has got its casting right. Sanjay Dutt looks terrific, and Ali Fazal, Jackie Shroff and Chunkey Pandey look good in respective parts. It is also mounted on a bigger scale.
However, when it comes to the all-crucial dialogues departments, there is only one in the teaser. It is fine, but we need to get a few more to understand how well the writing is done in Hindi. Remember, it is the ‘writing’ departments and the dialogues that are still talked about today. It needs to flow organically in Hindi as well to make an impact. It was in this aspect that Kabir Singh scored big.
Check out the teaser below. Sanjay Dutt not only acts but also produces the movie. Deva Katta helms the remake. Prasthanam in Hindi will hit the screens across India on September 20th.
