Upcoming Bollywood movie titled ‘Mental Hai Kya’ has run into problems by the virtue of the title. Indian Psychiatric Society has taken serious offense for using the word ‘Mental’ making fun of mentally challenged people of society.
They belong to marginalized groups and hence, the movie was stalled by the Central Board of Film Certification. Making fun of mental illness isn’t considered cool by the CBFC.
Now, sources say that the makers of the movie had to either change the title of the movie or else, forget the movie’s release that was scheduled for July 2019.
The movie was produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Telugu guy Prakash Kovelamudi, veteran ditector K Raghavendra Rao’s son featuring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao as the lead pair.
Despite efforts by Ekta Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut to assure that there is nothing like making fun of the above-said marginalized group, the CBFC isn’t buying their explanation. Let’s see how they get to resolve their problem.
