Pakistani Exhibitors Keen to Make Money on Sachin A Billion DreamsThe audiences are waiting with baited breath for the release of movie Sachin: A Billion Dreams. The excitement about this biopic based on the life of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar is such that even Pakistan has not been able to escape it. Indeed, if the news in the media is true, film exhibitors in Pakistan are keen to showcase this biopic.

The fact is that other Indian movies have been doing well in Pakistan, most notably, recent releases such as Baahubali 2 and Half Girlfriend. As such the exhibitors want to screen Sachin’s film as well. However, the screening of Sachin’s biopic is subject to approval by Pakistani Censor Board and as of now, the board has not cleared this movie for release.

When asked whether this move is politically motivated, due to the escalating tensions between the two countries, film’s distributor Anil Thadani had no answer. However, he did say that the lack of the film’s release in Pakistan will lead to losing business.
