The makers of film Padmavati had high hopes for their grand project. The expectation within the Bollywood was that the film would do even better at the box office than Baahubali which was a dubbed film. Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the film appears to be endless and does not seem to be dying down.
With several groups around the country demanding a halt on the film’s release to CBFC’s delayed certification, Padmavati seems to be facing many roadblocks. Earlier, reports said that the filmmakers had held a special screening for media persons to appease the widespread demand. This has in turn angered the CBFC Chief Prasoon Joshi who feels that the filmmakers are comprising the whole system of checks and balances by screening an uncertified film.
According to sources, CBFC had delayed the film’s certification due to incomplete documents that lacked requisite disclaimers to be displayed at the film’s beginning.
