If there is one film in India that is currently the talk of the nation, then it is without any doubt Padmavati. It is supposedly based on real events featuring famous names from Hindu and Muslim perspectives.
Right from its shooting days, the movie has been marred by controversies, and now the Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) are continuing the momentum. Amidst all these non-movie related issues, the actual content has taken a backseat.
Two songs from the film Padmavati are out, and they aren’t on the same level as director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s previous film Bajirao Mastani. But, no one seems to be bothered about them as the issue is entirely diverted towards the subject at hand. It is this additional publicity that the makers are also banking on to take the movie to safety. Padmavati hits screens globally on December 1st in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
