Ever since the release of its trailer, the film Udta Punjab has garnered a lot of controversies including the movie leak issue ahead of release. After the contentious cuts in the film recently snubbed by Bombay High Court, the film has once again landed in trouble over the video of one of its songs that stars Jacqueline Fernandez.
The song titles Ishq ka Marz amounts basically to an item song. However the costume worn by Jacqueline also includes a Kirpan tied at her waist. Howver, kirpan according to the Sikhs is highly religious and making it a part of a song and that too an item song is highly disheartening.
The Sikhs were so upset by the film that an activist named Harjinder Kukreja has already demanded an apology from the actress Jacqueline for hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community.
