It is official now. Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena is all set to premiere on Netflix. It is the first significant acquisition from the streaming giant as far as movies are considered.
Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl is the second feature film of actress Janhvi Kapoor after her debut with the love story Dhadak. It was supposed to be a big multiplex deal this summer, but unfortunately, the lockdown has put an end to those dreams. There was a lot of talk related to the OTT takeover for the past few weeks. Finally, an official confirmation has come now.
A special video was released announcing the arrival of Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl on Netflix. It shows footage from the real-life with voice over by Janhvi Kapoor.
Dharma Productions banner produce Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl. It is a biopic and is directed by Sharan Sharma. Apart from Janhvi Kapoor, the movie also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Viineet Kumar, Angad Bedi, Manav Vij and Ayesha Raza.
A release date for the movie is not yet locked. However, with the trailer due in the coming few days, expect the announcement of streaming date to be out soon, as well. The buzz doing the rounds suggests it could be for Independence Day or in July, at the earliest.
