Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ were up for a clash release and just like the speculations, ‘Rustom’ is faring better than the other movie. ‘Rustom’, which revolves around the infamous K.M. Nanavati case, garnered about 14.11 crores on the first day itself. On the other hand, Mohenjo Daro, a period film involving a love story, only gathered about 8.87 crores the day of its release.
By the end of the weekend, Rustom had managed almost 50 crores while Mohenjo Daro only collected about 30 crores. The Hrithik Roshan starrer has been so lousy in its collections that now we hear that Box Office will be taking down some of its shows only to be replaced by screenings of ‘Rustom’.
Even considering the leading actors of the films, Akshay has had two successes already this year while for Hrithik this movie is his hopeful comeback to the silver screen after ‘Bang Bang’ two years ago.
