In a few days from now on May 26, Sachin A Billion Dreams is going to release. It is a movie on Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, but there is no buzz on it so far.
In quite a contrast was the reception to the Dhoni biopic which took a thunderous opening. The problem with Sachin biopic is that it is not a traditional movie in a commercial sense. It is a documentary of sorts, despite music by AR Rahman, which chronicles the journey of the legend. There is no connection whatever so ever with Dhoni’s biopic.
In the last few days, there has been a visible effort to increase the interest what with many stars championing it on the social media. There is also going to be a premiere of the movie in Mumbai tomorrow. Let’s see if this screening gets the momentum for the sporting legends arrival in cinemas across the country in multiple languages.
