Mission Mangal Trailer Talk: Milking The Milestone For MoolahThe second theatrical trailer of Mission Mangal featuring Akshay Kumar predominantly has been released. The movie is just a week away from debuting in cinemas and a second trailer now should give an idea regarding the reception so far.

In Bollywood, many films are coming in the last few years that are based on real-life people or incidents. They are then turned into a patriotic narrative keeping the current mood of the nation in mind. Actor Akshay Kumar has been at the forefront of these kinds of movies for some time.

Among the many patriotic-themed movies Akshay Kumar has done, Mission Mangal looks the most formulaic from the trailer. It is not bad at all, but the lack of freshness despite a milestone moment in Indian history at the centre can’t be missed. It feels as if instead of focussing on the core plot, the makers are milking other elements for commercial purposes.

An Independence Day release is the best time it could come for undoubtedly. One only hopes as a whole, the movie has a better narrative, and is engaging, than what the trailer suggests here.

Check out the trailer below. Apart from Akshay Kumar who is supposed to have a supporting role, Mission Mangal features talented female actors like Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen, Tapsee, and Sonakshi Sinha in crucial roles. Jagan Shakti directs the movie.
