‘Mental Hai Kya’, the title led to controversy because the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) found the word ‘Mental’ objectionable in the title. So, the makers of the movie had a major glitch at the CBFC to clear their trailer.
Finally, one of the protagonists of the film, Kangana Ranaut sat with the CBFC for a meeting after they watch the trailer. It was agreed that there must be a minor change to the title and Kangana Ranaut confirmed the same that they would be tweaking the title a bit.
So, the new title will be announced along with the trailer release. Initially, the trailer launch event was planned last week but canceled after IPS raised the objection about the title that it was making fun of mental illness.
With CBFC clearance, the movie would have a release on the scheduled date on 26th July unless the makers of the movie decide otherwise. The movie also stars Rajkumar Rao as the male leads.
With Kangana and Rajkumar as the lead, the movie-goers are excited to see the combo on the big screen. The movie was directed by Telugu guy Prakash Kovelamudi and produced by Ekta Kapoor.
