This seems to be the era of biopics, what with films like ‘MS Dhoni: the untold story’, ‘Azhar’ hit the screens. Last year, Karan Johar had announced that he will be making a movie based on the life of hockey player Dhyan Chand. However, little news about the film has come up until now. The latest is that cricketer MS Dhoni, who is finally stepping into the film scene, will be producing the film.
The ace cricketer has acquired the rights to the film and director Rohit Vaid will be making the film with Varun Dhawan in the leading roles. Johar had to deal with his own set of problems with the biopic in question. While he and Varun didn’t want Vaid to direct the film who had legal rights to it, actor Varun had also initially turned down the role. They’re all in it now after Vaid’s National award win.
Another biopic to come is ‘Sachin, A Billion Dreams’ based on legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, will be released on 26th May.
