Bollywood star hero, Akshay Kumar’s latest release on Disney Hotstar ‘Laxmii‘ opened to negative reviews mostly. But, this was a remake directed by none other than the director of the original, Raghava Lawrence. It’s a faithful remake of blockbuster ‘Kanchana’.
With Akshay Kumar as the face of the movie, there seems to be nothing that can go wrong. Then, why the negative reviews? Films like these are meant for masses, especially, for the masses in the B and C centres and these films are meant for single theatres.
So, negative reviews don’t matter as we know that digital platforms are mostly for elite and the common audiences from masses and rural areas seldom take the OTT seriously. Even the negative reviews can’t flop an OTT film, right?
When a face like Akshay Kumar is the hero of the film, there would be no stopping the audiences as he can stop the remote and make them be hooked to the screen. Despite mixed talk from the critics, ‘Laxmii’ is going to be masses movie as this kind of entertainment caters to the tastes of the common audiences.
