Director Anil Sharma's Rant on 'Baahubali 2' RecordsBollywood is shell shocked with the gigantic performance of ‘Baahubali 2‘, beating even the straight Hindi films of Khans and breaking the records set by earlier films. It’s the first Indian movie ever to reach the Rs. 1000 crore benchmark.

Director Anil Sharma of ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ fame is unable to see that Rajamouli’s epic drama has set new records and broken old ones. His jaundiced eye failed to see that the same will be applicable to movies of Bollywood star heroes like Aamir Khan or Salman Khan.

When ‘Dangal’ and ‘Sultan’ were creating records and box-office numbers were pouring in and making headlines, Anil Sharma was nowhere to calculate the total collections as per the valuation of his ‘Gadar, Ek Prem Katha’ days. As per his analysis, the film collected Rs. 260 crore, which is equal to Rs. 5000 crore as per today’s valuation said the director.

Why didn’t he do the same when ‘pk’, ‘Dangal’, ‘Sultan’ and many other movies were said to have beaten his film? Looks like, some Bollywood directors are unable to digest the phenomenal success of a regional film.
