Kamal’s heroine Andrea Jeremiah joins the list of those actresses who are appreciating the #MeToo movement and actresses coming out in open to reveal the names of big shots, especially, in Bollywood. This movement is burning in Bollywood right now as the victims found a platform to share their stories that they couldn’t do a few years ago.
Though Andrea Jeremiah denied facing casting couch herself in the film industry, she accepts that there is casting couch and people need to speak up on the issue. But, she also wants us to understand the other side of the coin, as well. When women are strong enough and not willing to sleep for the sake of offers, then, they won’t ask for it. True.
Andrea has got a point. When there are no takers for the indecent proposals, naturally, the casting couch will die its natural death. But, as long as there is this attraction between the opposite sex, it’s the mindsets that need to be trained to keep that attraction and the hormonal compulsions to keep at bay. We are happy that Kamal’s heroine has got no such stories to share. At least, she has got to work with good people who are decent.
