This week Bollywood will see the release of its first high budgeted commercial biggie. The movie is Kalank, and it stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
Kalank, for starters, is going to arrive on April 17th, two days earlier than the usual Friday release. And now, the makers have told the exhibitors to increase the ticket prices at a level higher than the movies of the Khans. The trade is not happy with this development at all. They feel an increase in price might have an adverse effect.
However, there is another section which believes an increase in ticket price could be a face-saving act. A week later, the biggest movie of the year Avengers – Endgame is going to release. Its arrival is why the film is preponed to a mid-week release, and now the prices are hiked, they feel. The makers want to collect as much as they can in the opening weekend itself.
