Tall heroines being teamed up with shorter heroes has become quite common in Bollywood but, there is no way to upturn the history even for the sake of making a film. Here, the actors in discussion are Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone and the top director is Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The director is presently shooting for his upcoming historical ‘Padmavati’.
It’s obvious that Deepika is taller than Shahid Kapoor. This height problem has been hitting the director as Shahid is essaying the role of the Rajput King, Maharana Ratan Singh, husband of Rani ‘Padmavati’. According to Rajput’s conservative tradition, a husband must be taller than his wife. How can Sanjay Leela Bhansali change the history?
So, they have to work on a way to see that Shahid looks equal in height with Deepika. Coming to the film, Deepika’s alleged boyfriend Ranveer Singh is playing Alauddin Khilji and there seemed to be some issues between Ranveer and Shahid regarding the importance of their respective characters in ‘Padmavati’. Well, all those issues only added to the publicity of the movie.
