The Supreme Court of India has issued orders to the state governments to refrain from banning the movie Padmaavat. It has asked the respective states to provide full security for a safe release.
The governments of four states, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand had imposed a ban on the most controversial film of modern times. As the release date is nearing the makers approached the court to get them out of the mess. They say that there is no point in banning now, after following all the cuts and changes as suggested by Censor. Even the title is now Padmaavat.
Padmaavat is slated to release worldwide on January 25. We have to see if it is the Censored version that releases globally or the uncut version. In India, it will be without any doubt the latest version.
