Dancing Queen No More

Dancing Queen Saroj Khan No More

Bollywood dancing queen Saroj Khan who choreographed scores of foot-tapping blockbuster songs is no more. She suffered a massive heart attack and was pronounced dead.

Saroj Khan’s choreography was crucial for the emergence of yesteryear diva Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit as the top heroines of their times, respectively. Just one song ‘Hawa Hawai’ from ‘Mr India’ made Sridevi number one heroine those days and of course, she got many more blockbuster songs from the dancing queen.

Madhuri Dixit rose to overnight fame with ‘Ek Do Teen’ song from ‘Tejaab’ choreographed by Saroj Khan, the song which lights the dance floors, even today. The celebrated choreographer was known for coming up with beautiful dance moves that made the actress flow on the dancing float like a flower.

Saroj Khan’s contribution to Indian Cinema as a choreographer will be remembered forever as the maker of 2000 plus iconic songs. Incredible talent! ‘May Her Soul Rest in Peace’.
