The first thing is, ‘Baahubali 2’ is a regional film. The second thing is, the protagonist is a lesser known hero for the Bollywood audiences and is from South. Even then, ‘Baahubali 2‘ achieved the rare feat of throwing the three Khans films down the ladder. How?
It created history by entering into the Rs. 400 Crore club and will ever remain as the first film to enter the club. The three Khans could create records for being the first to enter Rs. 100 crore (Ghajini), Rs. 200 crore (3 Idiots) and Rs. 300 crore (pk) clubs. Now ‘Baahubali 2’ into the 400 crore club.
Unlike Khans’ and Kapoors’ films which are Hindi films, ‘Baahubali 2’ is the Hindi dubbed version of a South movie. To be overthrown by a regional film featuring a South hero, with its dubbed version was unthinkable for the Bollywood star heroes.
Though Aamir Khan and Salman Khan’s future projects have the capacity of beating this record for Hindi films, it’s nearly impossible to beat the worldwide collections of Prabhas’ film in near future.
