The ICC World Twenty20 India-Pakistan match was bound to be a hyped event with the eyes of the entire nation on the goings-on at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. With the presence of celebrities and senior players alike, the game turned out to be even more exciting as was expected.
The most anticipated part of the event was the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar together at the stadium. Amitabh Bachchan made the event even more memorable by singing “Jana Gana Mana” in his distinctive baritone after speaking about the hope for peace between the two nations. Amitabh’s rendition of the national anthem was such that it raised goosebumps also the way he celebrated the victory. Moreover, stalwarts like Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were also felicitated on the occasion.
The icing on the cake in this whole event was that India won the match which is also India’s first win in the ICC World Twenty20 Tournament.
