Manamantha is the story of four individuals who have a separate story of their own going on. How it all comes together in the end, is what the film is all about. Manamantha Review Script

How is Mohanlal’s performance?
This is the first full-fledged film done by Mohan Lal after making a blink and miss appearance in a big Telugu film two decades ago. When one watched one is truly spellbound first by the sheer commitment he has given to the character and then it is the performance. It takes a little time to get used to the Telugu of the star but once it sets in we are in for one helluva act from him. There are many moments that showcase his chameleon ease in switching emotions as a star. The only problem here is, which is also similar to another legend Kamal Haasan, that at times it feels like the act is consciously done to showcase the talent rather than just being part of a character.

Chandra Sekhar Yeleti has provided story and screenplay for the film along with direction. If we look overall he has succeeded in what he wants to convey but there are parts in the film that lack strong grip direction wise. It could also be due to the performers as some are so awesome that it makes others look bad in comparison.

The film starts interestingly the tempo is maintained well till a point. After that, it feels like falling apart and narrative gets boring with different tracks. Towards interval the film gains momentum again and ends on a good. Second half again has this up and down with the pre-climax and climax being the good parts. In the end, there is definitely a positive feeling when comes out due to the performances by some of the artists on board and how their tracks end. But the main target of the film that is to have a smile on the face is not felt wholeheartedly at the end as there is dissatisfaction too due to lots of boring moments in between.

Gauthami is apt for the part and she plays it with a lot of grace and elegance. But the real highlight of the film after Mohan Lal is the child actor Raina Rao playing Mahathi. She brings the right innocence required for the part which makes one root for the character to feel happy in the end. Viswant Duddumpudi appears as a weak link in the film amidst such high caliber performers. His track along with Anisha Ambrose brings the film down in terms of emotional connect. Dhanraj playing a restrained role for a change is fine. Harshavardhan has a small role and he is good in that brief appearance. Chandra Mohan is dependable. Urvashi overacts. Vennela Kishore is good. Nassar and Gollapudi Maruthi Rao bring variety to the table with their mere presence.

Music by Mahesh Shankar goes with the narrative with the title song being the best of the lot. Background score is fine. Cinematography is okay. Editing is neat. Dialogues are situational and they work well within the framework.

Chandrasekahr Yeleti is one director who has made quite hatke films from the regular crowd. Right from his first film Aithe, all his films have some speciality or the other. Probably he is the only director in Tollywood who has narrated film with a motto and did not stick to the regular herd in Tollywood. Manamantha Review More Details;

After the success of his last film Saahasam Chandrasekhar took a long gap and went into the hiding. When everyone was wondering what is he doing next the talented director announced that he will be making a family drama now.

This news surprised many but one was very excited as to whom will the director be working with. Once again he surprised one and all by announcing that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will be doing the lead role in this film.

Things kept going beyond everyone’s expectations when Gautami who was away from the camera was also roped in. Then the story came out that the film will be based on the lives of four different individuals.

The shooting of the film also was wrapped up in no time and the release date was announced. When everything was going so smooth and the film was gearing up for the audio release Mohanlal surprised everyone when he announced that he would dub for this film in his own voice.

But when the trailer was out everyone made fun of the star’s dubbing which was indeed quite weird. All these gave the film enough hype. But the film kept on getting a superb buzz all thanks to the director and his talent.

Slated for a release tomorrow the film has Gautami as a middle-class housewife and the heart and soul of the film. Vaarahi productions headed by Sai Korrapati produces this film which can be quite serious and thrill at the same time. Manamantha Review Conclusion
