What is the film about?
How Nani (Gautham/Jay) proves he is a Gentleman in an impossible situation struck between two girls Catherine (Niveda Thomas) and Aishwarya (Surabhi). What is the impossible situation and how hero escapes from it is what the film basically is about.
How is Nani’s performance?
Nani is superb in the film as usual with one huge emotional block that would again put him among the best actor of the generation category. He shows slight variations between the different roles he portrays with ease. Given the twist we have one feels things might have been more exciting or rather it would have been exciting to see the actor go all out.
Direction By Mohan Krishna Indraganti?
Come to think of it Mohan Krishna Indraganti has a very basic and simple story in his hand that we have probably seen many times previously. What makes this interesting is the screenplay. Two flashbacks in first half followed by a movie with thriller elements in second half makes one feel it as different film that what it actually is which is where the director succeeds. Unfortunately the twist in the end makes it another run of the mill movie. Its weak and illogical (Why no one suspects a murder and assumes as an accident ?)
First half of the film is pretty simple with two love tracks involving two pairs. The love tracks in itself are very ordinary and don’t bring anything fresh to the table. Things get interesting towards the interval mark and it is continued in the second half in parts which are very engaging. The problem as we said it gets gripping in parts and also few songs which come as huge speed breakers. Overall it’s a pretty average fare thanks to those few parts of well executed moments.
Surabhi, Niveda Thomas and others?
There are two heroines in the film Niveda Thomas and Surabhi. Both are given decent roles as in they are integral to the plot but nothing much can be seen in terms of performance. Surabhi has bigger part in the first half but Niveda role gets better in second half. Apart from them there is Srinivas Avasarala who plays a role with a little negative shade for a change. He is good. Vennela Kishore as manager is in fine form, however it is limited. Satyam Rajesh has very limited role. It’s the same with Rohini and Tankella Bharani.
Music and other departments?
Music for the film is provided by Mani Sharma after a long gap. Musically it is below par but he dominates as expected in the arena that he has been so prolific over the years, the background score. Cinematography is good overall. Editing is neat. Dialogues are fine.
