What is the film about? 100 Days of Love Telugu Movie Review Story
A guy Rao Gopal Rao (Dulquar Salman) falls in love, the lover Savithri (Nithya Menen) already has a fiancé, and finally, she discovers true love. This is a story we have seen in many films before, only the narration here is a bit different.
How is Dulquer Salman’s performance?
This is a bread and butter, walk in the park kind of role for Dulquar. He makes all the right moves and performs expectedly in a role that is tailor-made for him. There is no over the top over action anywhere everything is done in a perfectly controlled manner with required intensity.
Direction By Jenuse Mohammad?
Jenuse Mohammad has an eye for visuals and his obsession with Hollywood aesthetics is visible right from the first frame. The biggest problem with the film, as a result, is that he simply wants to narrate a very old and quite frankly dated story with these aesthetics bringing the freshness. But without a solid story no matter how polished the final output looks, it gives a hollow vibe and that is the downfall in the end.
Entire first half of the film is a tiring watch as it’s not only narrated at a snail’s pace but it also contains lots of excess that could have been easily avoided in the overall scheme of things. The film picks up movement and gets interesting only when dealing with the main love track. Other sub plots don’t look organic feels like inserted into the narrative forcibly.
Overall the film has moments but the sum of parts is not equal to the whole. There are funny between hero and his friend which we one can connect with, similarly, there are parts with between lead pair that is engaging. But in the end these don’t end up giving a satisfying feeling, in fact, it’s far from it. How one wishes the focus was entirely on love with the treatment being the same.
Nithya Menen and others?
Nithya Menen is fine as usual. She comes late into the proceedings but manages to leave her mark by the end of the film. She puts her natural charm to great effect here as one expects from her. Sekhar Menon as the friend of hero is really good. He is a perfect representation of a type of geek with all the innocence intact. The innocence combined with good bro chemistry with hero makes the proceedings worthwhile many a time. Others have a very small role and none really leave an impact to be remembered.
Music and other departments?
Music by Govind Menon is okay. They have been shot very stylishly, though. Background score is similarly alright with nothing standing out. Editing is smooth. Cinematography is brilliant and gives the film a unique feel.
