KCR Telangana tallest Flag PoleTelangana goverment had decided to set up India’s largest national flag on the tallest mast at Sanjeevaiah Park alongside the Hussainsagar, which will be unveiled by Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao on June 2, second anniversary of the state’s formation. However the flagpole idea hits a roadblock.

The state government is still waiting for the necessary permissions from Airports Authority of India to put up the flagpole at Sanjeevaiah Park. The park is in the close proximity to the Begumpet airport and there are restrictions on height of any structure. So the permissions of Airports Authority of India is necessary.

The government has to compromise on the height of the flagpole (less than the proposed 303 feet) to get the permission or wait beyond June 2 to secure the required permissions. But The Chief Minister is keen on hoisting the Tricolour on a 303 ft (93 metres) tall flagpole that would become the tallest in the country , dwarfing the one at Ranchi in Jharkhand which holds the current record (at 294 ft).
