Chandrababu-Naidu-Narendra-modiTelugu Desam Party had announced its three candidates for Rajya Sabha elections. Sujana Chowdary has got a renomination while TG Venkatesh has got the seat in Rayalaseema Quota. The third seat is allocated to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on the special request of the BJP, the ally of TDP.

But all the three choices disappointed the party supporters. They are not in favour of Sujana Chowdary for his complacency in dealing with the Center and secondly, various loan evasion cases pending on his companies. TG Venkatesh’s candidature came as total surprise. TG, once a senior leader of Congress, joined TDP after the bifurcation.

He lost the last election and is also not active in the party affairs after that. He also tried to trouble the party on Special Status and Rayalaseema issues. And coming to the last choice, supporters do not want to see TDP giving a seat to BJP. However, TDP was cornered to give seat to BJP even though the center is not doing enough to the state, with a hope it will help the state to some extent.
