Apparently, Shashidhar had been calling his boss more than 2,000 times a day, left millions of texts on her phone, and stood in front of her house overnight, even when it was raining.

Shashidhar, who was working at the hotel Hebbal in Bengaluru, had pursued his boss despite her being uninterested and was, hence, fired from the job. He then resorted to other measures like calling her repeatedly, texting her on facebook, sending pictures of messages written in blood, and even sending obscene images of himself in an attempt to win her. The stalker continued this obsessive behaviour in spite of a 14-day arrest.

However, he has been put behind bars for now because of the laws against stalking, Section 354D of the Indian Penal Code, which state that “a stalker can be punished on first conviction with imprisonment of up to three years. On a second or subsequent conviction, the crime can attract a five-year jail term.”
