For the first time in several years, a party is able to win GHMC with out MIM’s support. There are several speculations that MIM will be having tought time in Old City as the ruling party will try to make inroads to key hold areas.
On the other side, MIM is wary about the possible consequences. The party today extended its support to TRS’ nominees for Mayor and Deputy Mayor on the floor of the house.
This support is not at all needed according to rules but MIM extended it to remain in good books of the ruling party. TRS Youth wing President Bonthu Rammohan is elected as the mayor while Borabanda corporator, Baba Safiuddin is voted as the deputy Mayor.
