KCR laid foundation stone for MedigaddaTelangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao laid foundation stone for Medigadda Project. Telangana had entered in to an agreement with Maharashtra government for constructing three projects using Reverse Lift. Medigadda is first of that three and will have the storage capacity of 19.73 TMCs.

The other two projects will be of 6.22 TMC and 2.16 TMC but the government is planning several resevoirs which will all together store 200 TMCs of water. The government targets to bring Godavari water to irrigate 30 Lakh acres in Seven districts of the state and also for the drinking water needs of Hyderabad and Rangareddy.

The government had released 7998 Crore for the three projects. Medigadda alone will get 3524 Crore. The entire project scheme is called Kaleshwaram Project and will cost a whopping 83000 Crore to state exchequer. This project if completed, will make Telangana drought free and will get KCR’s name etched in history books forever.
