All the opposition parties have bitten dust very badly in the just announced GHMC results. After back to back defeats, Congress could only manage a meagre 2 divisions only better than TDP and the parties like Left, Lok Satta who did not open their account.
Congress is the main opposition party in Telangana and this result will not at least give them some respite. Further Congress is a national party and this defeat indicates that things will not be anything better even in 2019.
Congress’ mayor candidate, Vikram Goud and former mayor Banda Karthika Reddy also lost the elections indicating the intensity of the defeat. Probably the party is all set for a big rejig very soon.
