Constitutional Crisis brewing in HyderabadWith both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh government brandishing swords on each other, the situations in Hyderabad are changing very fast. On Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh government had deployed 2000 of state police in Hyderabad replacing all Telangana Police. AP Minister also hinted that there is a good chance of starting AP Police Stations in Hyderabad if at all the Section 8 is not implemented.

However such move will brew a constitutional crisis. For an instance, any law and order issue in Hyderabad normally comes under Hyderabad Jurisdiction. But going further, AP Police stations may register such cases. If a case is between two persons belonging to AP and Telangana, one may approach Telangana police and other may approach AP Police. Telangana Traffic Police if stops some one from AP, they may say they belong to AP and can be only prosecuted by AP Police.

People arrested by AP Police can claim they belong to Telangana and are not answerable to AP Police. On the other side, AP’s argument also stands good as they can not trust Telangana Police who are being supervised by KCR government which is visibly upset with Chandrababu Naidu’s government. Central government should immediately intervene to solve this issue.
