v hanumantha rao disappointTelangana Congress had decided not to field a candidate in Rajya Sabha elections. Congress Legislative Party took this decision after weighing all the pros and cons involved. They opined that contesting with out proper strength will send wrong signals and will also create problems in the future.

This comes as a big disappointment for Congress Senior Leader, V Hanumantha Rao. He is very interested in the contest and even went to Delhi asking permission for contest. But the high command left the decision to the State Unit. This will also mean an end to Hanumantha Rao’s political career.

Congress’ decision will make sure that the two candidates of TRS – D.Srinivas and Captain Lakshmikanth Rao will be elected unopposed in the election. DS already resigned to his government advisor post to file the nomination. This two seats will take TRS’ Rajya Sabha MPs count to three as K Keshava Rao is already in the upper house.
