Jerusalem Mattaiah, one of the accused in Cash for Vote case is finally arrested. However he is not arrested in relation to the Cash for Vote case but in another case. This is a case dating back to 2006. It is alleged that Mattaiah took money some people promising jobs in Hotel Managements.
The victims complained about getting cheated. A Non bailable warrant is pending on Mattaiah in this case. Police arrested him basing on that. After presenting him before the magistrate, he was sent to Cherlapally Jail. Mattaiah, one of the accused in Cash for Vote case, never got arrested in the case.
He evaded arrest back then by escaping to Andhra Pradesh and later prevented his arrest through courts. Mattaiah who was earlier very active in Telugu Desam Party all of sudden joined Samajwadi Party last year and he is also appointed as the Media Coordinator of the party.
