Ahead of the crucial Rajya Sabha elections, BJP had started buttering Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu for yet another Rajya Sabha term extension for Nirmala Sitharaman. BJP President Amit Shah invited Chandrababu Naidu for the swearing-in cermony of their government in Assam.
Chandrababu Naidu attended the event last evening and he was given utmost importance there. He was asked to first address the event which marks BJP forming government for the first time in a North – Eastern State. This seem to be a ploy to butter Chandrababu ahead of the crucial Rajya Sabha election.
TDP, the ally of BJP, will get three seats in the upcoming elections in June. BJP is hoping that one of the seats will be allotted to Nirmala Sitharaman. It was TDP which nominated her to the Upper House. She only got two years term back then as the election happened due to the sudden demise Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy.
