Vijaya Sai Reddy, Vijaya Sai Reddy corruption cases, Vijaya Sai Reddy CBI, Vijaya Sai Reddy Legal Cases, Vijaya Sai Reddy Special Courts ActYSR’s family auditor and co-accused in all Jagan Mohan Reddy’s corruption cases, Vijaya Sai Reddy is recently nominated to Rajya Sabha from the party. Vijaya Sai Reddy however these days is keeping himself away from party affairs and is busy in talks with legal experts about how to evade the Special Courts Act 2016 unleashed by the state government according to a report in India Times.

The state government brought this act to recover ill-gotten assets of economic offenders with Jagan Mohan Reddy being the prime target. Vijaya Sai Reddy is digging in to law books to find a way to escape from this act. Vijaya Sai Reddy is of the opinion, “Any law that is enacted by the Assembly or the Parliament can only be prospective and cannot be retrospective so far as criminal cases are concerned” and so AP can not confiscate Jagan’s properties.

He is also of the opinion that the CBI investigation in these cases was ordered by the AP High Court under Criminal Procedures Code, Indian Penal Code, Prevention of Corruption Act and Money Laundering Act. Hence, he feels there cannot be any subsequent legislation which can supersede the order passed by the AP High Court. Lets see him argument stands!
