Andhra-pradesh-capitalAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s coming back to Power can be solely to attributed to the belief of the people that he is the only man who can steer the new state with out even a capital, out of trouble. Naidu has promised a World Class Capital for the state and also started working in that direction. People also will settle nothing less than the World Class Capital.

However is too much of urbanization dangerous to Amaravathi? May be yes. People around this mega city are still not prepared to deal with the challenges to be posed by the upcoming World Class Capital. The city will be almost outsourced due to the empty coffers of the state. The maintenance of such huge city and the return on investments for the developer should obviously come from one way or other from the people of the region and may be the state through user charges etc.

Quite normally the charges of the World Class Capital will also be of the same size. But can families depending mostly on agriculture can bear this? Will a region where AC RTC buses are running financial losses, be able to sustain in this model? And the other big question is can the cash strapped Andhra Pradesh have upper hand on the powerful developer, Singapore or China or Japan and still make the Capital a growth engine. A visionary like Chandrababu Naidu should strike balance between rapid development and the welfare of people within.
