After getting assurance from the new Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu about hassle free regime in the state, Technology titan Wipro has speed up its work on expanding its Vishakapatnam campus in to a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Recently Wipro had applied for permission of a SEZ with Union commerce ministry, once it is cleared the company’s 1.22 hectares in Resapuvanipalem in Visakhapatnam will house more than 6,400 software professionals.

The facility will come in to operational in phases. Since the company has got the backing of Andhra Pradesh CM, the proposals from commerce ministry should not be difficult since it is headed by Nirmala Sita Raman who was nominated to Rajya Sabha by TDP. It is known that Wipro Chairman Azim Premji is one of the first IT big heads to meet Chandra Babu after he is sworn in as the Chief Minister and put forth a proposal for creating AP as the IT ecosystem.
