Jagan voting record

The Nandigama byelection result will be out in few hours from now. The seat which fell vacant due to the death of TDP legislator Tangirala Prabhakar has his daughter Tangirala Soumya as the hot favourite. The main opposition party decided to back out from the contest did not contest the byelection following the tradition of supporting the kin of a deceased legislator as a result TDP victory is more or less confirmed.

The contest should have been unanimous but Congress pressed its candidate hoping that YSRCP voters will turn to them but analysts say the contest more likely will be one-sided.In 2014 assembly elections, YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy won with a record margin of 75,243 votes and Telugu Desam Party leadership is confident of beating that record with a good margin. Congress decided to contest this seat despite its candidate in the 2014 general election getting only 1998 votes. The party currently has no representation in AP Assembly and wanted to use this oppurtunity to send at least one MLA to the house.
