These days Rana and Arya are having full fan on the sets of ‘Bangalore Days’ remake in Tamil. Telugu version didn’t yet launch till date though. ‘Bangalore Days’ remake has been on cards since almost an year (original in Malayalam hit screens in May, 2014) but still didn’t go on sets till recently.
‘Queen’ remake also has been in discussions since long, but till date everything is oblivious about the remake. Now, since a couple of days, media is mulling on the buzz of superhit Bollywood film ‘Piku’s remake with victory Venkatesh and darling Samantha. Venky to play a character essayed by Amitabh Bachan as a 70-year old guy hit by constipation woes and Sam to play his daughter.
While the concept of playing a 70-year old by Venky seems not so tangible keeping in view the tastes of Telugu audiences who would not think of their star hero play much older character than his actual age. But Venky is a man of no nonsense who wouldn’t bow to image frame work and frame himself into routine entertainers.
But Venky’s previous experiment ‘Masala’ remake from Bollywood didn’t fare well. The same fate repeated for ‘Baand Baaja Bhaarat’ remake ‘Aha Kalyanam’ in Telugu. Remakes from Tamil and Malayalam have certain emotional connect with Telugu audiences. However Bollywood remakes always struggled at box-office. Will ‘Piku’ remake cater to Telugu users’ taste?
