Congress party is very much baffled with the recent electoral defeat in the general election. The condition of the grand old party is not any better in Telangana too. Even though it takes the credit of forming the separate state, it could barely get around 20 seats. The party has pinned high hopes on the upcoming GHMC elections in November to stage a comeback and stay politically relevant in the next 5 years.

In one of the preparation meeting of Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee, the leaders felt that there is a need of resorting to the help of social media so as to reach out the urban population in the area. The party is planning to setup a dedicated IT cell in Gandhi Bhavan which will take the failures of the ruling government to the educated class through various online platforms like Twitter and Facebook. The party will also focus their attention on winning the hearts of Seemandhra people, living in Hyderabad who are at loggerheads with the ruling government which is not so favourable to them.
