Couple of days ago, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister warned people in Vishakapatnam not to fire crackers for this Deepavali as there is a danger of fire accidents with dried trees every where after they are uprooted by Hudhud Cyclone. He even went on to warn to arrest those selling or using crackers. However Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu seem to be defying the orders of the Chief Minister. The minister announced his plans to celebrate the festival amid Vishakapatnam people and instill confidence in them. He also announced he will personally supervise the relief works for the two days he is staying there.

Venkaiah Naidu has taken this decision on the lines of the Prime Minister celebrating Diwali in the flood affected Jammu and Kashmir. However we will have to see if Venkaiah defy Chandrababu’s orders or confine to just lighting lamps and celebrate the festival as suggested by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. By choosing the second way, he will please Modi as well as Chandrababu.
