smart village andhra pradeshAndhra Pradesh government had released a G.O. listing 20 non-negotiable development commitments (NNDCs) under its Smart Village-Smart Ward program. These commitments are aimed at achieving overall sustainable and inclusive development of all sections of the society with focus areas in five categories:

1. Human Development: End all preventable maternal deaths, End all preventable infant deaths, achieving malnutrition free children (below five years of age) and zero school dropouts of boys and girls up to Class XII.

2. Environmental development: Increasing plantation, Initiation of function water conservation and solid or liquid waste management system.

3. Good governance: Setting up a computer lab and Mee Seva centre, telecom or internet connectivity, functional grievance redressal system, At least four times conducting of Gram sabhas or ward sabhas in an year with 2/3 attendance and prepare a dynamic development plan through community participation.

4&5. Social and Economic development: Access to toilet, safe-drinking water and regular power supply to households and schools, hospitals and anganwadi centers, providing a functional bank account to every household, provision of soil health card and enriched micro-nutrients to every farmer, Eradication of open defecation and girl-child marriages under the social development category.
