Bakthawar Rana -Hussain-Sagar-boat-accidentA lady techie working in TCS Company lost her life after the speed boat in which she was travelling had smashed a mechanized ferry boat near the Buddha statue. The 22 year old Bakthawar Rana along with three other friends went in the speed boat to Buddha statue, where she spent time with her friends and took a few pictures.

When they were heading back, they noticed a mechanized boat and requested the driver to head towards it, which subsequently led to the collision. The driver was arrested after he allowed four people to sit in front (only two allowed) and they have blocked the view of the driver.

This was the first such accident that had taken place in the Hussainsagar Lake and the boating operations were suspended following it. An ex gratia of Rs. 3 lakh was given by the State government to Ezaz Uddin Khan, brother of the victim. who was a resident of Dhanbad in Jharkhand.
